Birgit Roerig received her BS in Biology from the Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum in Germany and her PhD in Biology from the Max-Planck Institute for Neurobiology in Munich-Martiensried. Following two postdoctoral training positions at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and Duke University in North Carolina she joined the faculty of the Anatomy and Neurobiology Department of the University of Maryland as an assistant professor. Then she joined Sucampo Pharma Americas in Bethesda, Maryland to serve as Director and later as Vice President of Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Jennifer Hertsch joins Coté Orphan Consulting with ten years of clinical research experience. Previously a Regulatory Associate at Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc., her major responsibilities included writing various regulatory submissions to FDA for Phase I and Phase II clinical trials and providing regulatory guidance to clinical investigators. Jennifer received her Master’s degree in Biology from Saint Joseph College and her Master’s degree in Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University. Prior to that, she worked at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore as a Research Program Coordinator in the Cancer Institute. In this role, Jennifer was responsible for obtaining IRB approval for Phase II, III and IV clinical trial projects sponsored by pharmaceutical companies as well as the National Cancer Institute. In addition, Jennifer assisted with the negotiation of clinical trial contracts and budgets. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Maggie joins Coté Orphan with over 20 year of industry experience with the last 15 year focused in the Contract Research Organization (CRO) space performing a variety of functions including pre-clinical Drug Metabolism Study Management; Business Development for ADME, Bioanalytical, and CMC; Strategic Outsourcing Partnerships, and Leadership. Maggie has successful procured a multi-million dollar Strategic Outsourcing Contract with a leading Pharmaceutical Company. In 2011, Maggie received the Salesperson of the Year award from the High Performance Plastics Division of Sekisui Chemical. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Sabrina joined Coté Orphan as Sales Professional bringing with her over eight years of experience in account management, business development, contract negotiations, and client engagement and retention. Previously working in the pre-clinical sector of drug development, Sabrina has worked for high quality Contract Research Organizations utilizing her scientific degree, strong interpersonal skills and ability to build solid partnerships through collaborations and support. Throughout her career she has assisted the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology and Medical Device industries in analytical chemistry, drug discovery and development, and regulatory guidance. Sabrina received her Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
